Change of plans today – a bit of a tummy bug has affected a few in the group, including Elizabeth, so we decided to give Tetouan a miss and chill out here. After a rest this morning (and a largely abortive attempt to make Skype calls) we ventured out about lunch-time, through the narrow alleys framed by the blue and white houses and overshadowed by the mountain, passing the tiny cats that frequent this area, past the “waterfall” where local women do their communal washing, and into the market square. Found some postcards and a couple of hand-made cushion covers, then had a simple lunch of pizza and salad on a rooftop terrace overlooking the square. Back to our hotel mid-afternoon for a snooze. Elizabeth has decided that discretion is...... and is not venturing out tonight; John is joining those of the group who are still standing for a simple meal in the square.
Tomorrow: we make our way to the historic city of Fes, where we will spend the next three days.
